My research has involved collaborations with imaging science, reproductive and neuroscience and child development and has focused on the relationship between cardiovascular physiology and brain development in the fetus and newborn, particularly in the setting of congenital heart disease and intrauterine growth restriction. The goal of this research is to develop neuroprotective strategies to mitigate against the adverse effects of abnormal perinatal cardiovascular physiology on the developing brain.
