Mirko Scheinert

Mirko Scheinert received the Ph.D. degree in orbit dynamics of low-flying satellites from the University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany, in 1994. He contributes to graduate lectures in geodesy and is active in the supervision of Ph.D. students. He is a Senior Scientist with the Chair of Geodetic Earth System Research, Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), Dresden, Germany. His research focuses on the determination of solid Earth deformation by geodetic methods (GNSS and gravimetry), gravity field analysis and geoid determination, the application of airborne methods in geodesy, and geodetic Earth system research. For more than 25 years, he has been active in polar research, among others conducting in situ measurements in Antarctica, Greenland, and Patagonia.
