His expertise is in the area of analytical toxicology and mass spectrometry-based detection, especially for the analysis of nucleic acids and small biomolecules. His research interests are to develop high-throughput bioassays for prevention and early diagnosis, and to explore the relation of hazards exposure to adverse health effects. He has published more than 90 papers in the international peer-reviewed journals. He holds 1 U.S. patent and 2 Taiwan patents. He was granted more than 20 research funds from Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan and Taiwan Food and Drug Administration, etc. He is an editorial board member of several reputed journals, and has been the Lead Guest editor for the Special issue on “Nucleic Acid Oxidation in Human Health and Disease” for the journal Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, the Special issue on “Mass Spectrometry on Adductomic Analysis” for the journal Frontiers in Chemistry and the Special issue on “The Impact of Environmental Toxicants on Genetic and Epigenetic Stability” for the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. He was awarded with Young Investigator Award from National Science Council of Taiwan (2007), Distinguished Scholar Award from Ministry of Education in Taiwan (2011-2017) and Excellent Research Award, Chung Shan Medical University (2006 and 2015).
