Awards and Honours:
1. Highly Cited Researcher declared by the Clarivate Analytics (Thomson Reuters USA) for the Year 2018. Only 4 of all Pakistani scientists have been declared highly cited researchers. This is a rare accomplishment and hence astounding achievement for Government of Pakistan that 4 Pakistani researchers have been included in the list of top 1% of scientists of the world.
2. Appointed as Honorary Chairman of Silkroad (Yangling) Biohealthy Agriculture Industry Alliance for 5 years (24th Nov 2018 to 23rd Nov 2023).
3. Earned an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the Lanzhou University China – second degree awarded but first to a foreigner during 110 years since the establishment of the University
4. Hilal-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan conferred on 14th August, 2016
5. Life-Time Achievement Award by the Pakistan Botanical Society Karachi 2015
