I am a physician-scientist in the clinical care of patients with liver disease as well as biostatistics and bioinformatics. I have joined several fund-granted studies as a co-investigator, in which I play a role in developing and analyzing tissue- and serum-based liver cancer risk signatures. Omics-data such as transcriptome and proteome are sometimes cumbersome to interpret due to statistically false positive and negative findings. My clinical experience and bioinformatic expertise enable linking them to clinical relevance and translational biology.
My current research focuses on (1) identification of blood- and tissue-based prognostic signatures for patients with liver disease (2) bioinformatical identification and experimental validation of chemopreventive targets for disease progression in patients with liver disease (3) development of computational algorithms to identify the prognostic signatures and chemopreventive targets.
