Bio
Neslihan Tas is an environmental microbial ecologist and a Research Scientist in the Climate & Ecosystems Division at Berkeley Lab. Dr. Tas studies microbial transformation of natural and anthropogenic carbon in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. She received her Ph.D. and MSc from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Dr. Tas’s current research projects spans from studying impact of climate change in soil microbial functions in the Arctic to fate of terrestrial carbon in aquatic ecosystems. Dr. Tas’s expertise lies on applications of multi-omic technologies in order to understand microbial function in the environment.
