Peter Strobl

Peter Strobl received the M.Sc. degree in geophysics from the University of Munich, Munich, Germany, in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in remote sensing from the University of Potsdam, Potsdam, Germany, in 2000. He is currently a Principal Scientist with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, Ispra, Italy. His work mainly concerns data architecture and interoperability in the frame of the Copernicus Earth Observation program, including the definition of standards, references, and quality metrics for geospatial data. Dr. Strobl is a member of various international working groups and advisory panels in the field of Earth observation and geospatial data and currently chairing the Terrain Mapping Sub-Group within the CEOS Working Group on Calibration and Validation.
