Bio
Dr. Woskov’s work has included the development of far infrared laser systems, gyrotrons, and transmission lines for diagnostic applications. He is currently the U. S. Principal Investigator (PI) in an international partnership to develop fast ion collective Thomson scattering diagnostics for fusion burning plasmas. The other partners are Risø National Laboratory, Denmark, and Intitut für Plasmaphysik, Jülich and Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Garching, both in Germany. In the environmental area he has successfully developed novel instrumentation for monitoring thermal remediation processes and has lead an effort to develop a hazardous metals continuous emissions monitor using a microwave plasma that was field-tested by the U. S. EPA. He is also the lead PI in a partnership with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) to develop advanced nuclear waste glass melter diagnostics.
