Paolo Villa

Paolo Villa received the M.Sc. (Laurea) degree in environmental engineering in 2004 and the Ph.D. degree in geomatics in 2008, both from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Milano, Italy. He was with Remote Sensing Laboratory, Polytechnic of Milan, and has been a Researcher with the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment, CNR, Milan, Italy, since 2012. He is a member of the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation and for Wetlands Ecology and Management on the topics of remote sensing and GIS. His research interests focus on multi- and hyperspectral image processing, aimed at monitoring environmental phenomena dynamics at different scales through Earth Observation. His research covers heterogeneous applications, dealing with land cover change, agriculture, aquatic ecosystem, plant community diversity, soil sealing, geology, and natural hazards.
