Bio
Patrick R. Gentry is a chemical biologist whose research has focused on the development and characterization of small molecule ligands for G protein-couple receptors (GPCRs). His past research at Vanderbilt University and Monash University has focused on the discovery and interaction of novel allosteric modulators with the muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M5.
In 2017 Patrick joined the Hans Brauner-Osborne group at Copenhagen University. Currently he is leading a screening campaign to discover novel small molecules for orphan GPCRs. His studies utilize unbiased dynamic mass redistribution assays in concert with hypothesis-based libraries of small molecules specifically tailored to target the orphan GPCRs under study.
