Paul Witherell

Paul Witherell (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Massachusetts Amherst, in 2009. He is currently a Mechanical Engineer with the Engineering Laboratory, Systems Integration Division, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He joined NIST as a National Research Council (NRC) Postdoctoral Fellow, in 2010. At NIST, he manages a project on systems integration for additive manufacturing and the Associate Program Manager of the Measurement Science for Additive Manufacturing Program, Engineering Laboratory. He received the ASME Computers and Information in Engineering (CIE) Division Young Engineer Award, in 2014. He is active in ASTM F42/ISO TC261 standards efforts and is the Vice Chair on ASME’s Y14.46 subcommittee on Product Definition for Additive Manufacturing.
