My research aims are to understand signaling networks that regulate how cells respond to stress. I am particularly interested in the structural mechanisms by which post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation and ubiquitination act as protein switches to control cell death, proliferation and migration. Using a combination of X-ray crystallography, biochemical and biophysical methods my lab aims to decipher how proteins regulate these outcomes in normal cells, how signaling is disrupted in diseases such as cancer, and how this understanding can be translated into more effective disease therapy.
