Peter E. Hammer

Peter E. Hammer received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, in 1988 and the M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Boston University, Boston, MA, in 1997. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Tufts University, Medford, MA. He worked as a Manufacturing Engineer in the electronics industry for five years before returning to school to study biomedical engineering. Since 1995, he has worked as a Research Engineer at Children's Hospital, Boston, on topics including heart rate variability analysis, mathematical modeling of baroreflex control, cardiac arrhythmia mapping, and computational modeling of mitral valve mechanics.
