Peter W. Hamilton

Peter Hamilton received the B.Sc. degree in biology from the University of Ulster, Belfast, U.K., in 1984, and the Ph.D. degree in quantitative pathology from Queen's University, Belfast, in 1989. He is a Professor of Bioimaging and Informatics at Queen's University and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He currently leads research into the use of virtual microscopy, image analysis, and expert systems for training, education, and research in pathology and is the principal developer of the PathXL™ virtual slide content management system to be used in this project. He has over 100 publications and major research grants in the field of digital pathology.
