Peter F. Hu

Peter Fuming Hu received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Shanghai University, Shanghai China, in 1984, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), Baltimore, MD, USA, in 1992 and 2013, respectively. He has more than 30 years of experience in clinical research at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore. During that time, he worked as a principal investigator (PI) or a co-PI on over 50 successfully completed peer-reviewed grants funded by various U.S. government agencies. He has been with the University of Maryland School of Medicine since 1992, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Anesthesiology, Surgery and Epidemiology. He is also an Adjunct Professor with UMBC. He is also the Chief Technologist with the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers. His research interests include applying big data machine learning methods for the prediction of trauma patient outcomes.
