Peter J.A Frinking

Peter J. A. Frinking (M'02) was born in Bussum, The Netherlands, in 1966. After secondary school, he received his M.Sc. degree in applied physics from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 1995. He received his Ph.D. degree in medical biophysics at the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in 2000. During his stay in Rotterdam, he worked on the acoustic characterization of new ultrasound contrast agents, developing novel detection methods for ultrasound contrast-specific imaging, and he did preliminary work on ultrasound mediated drug delivery. Since 2000, Dr Frinking has been a research scientist with Bracco Suisse SA, Geneva, Switzerland, where he is involved in microbubble physics and contrast ultrasound imaging. He is working on advancing the understanding of the interaction of ultrasound beams and microbubbles, perfusion quantification, promoting novel detection schemes, and exploring new applications of ultrasound contrast agents, like molecular imaging.
