Philip Busbee

My research lab focuses on mechanisms involved in the cross-talk between the gut microbiome and host immune response system during colitis. We research the role the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) expressed in immune cells and the colonic epithelial cells, and how the mechanisms associated with this receptor mediate host-specific gut responses to inflammation and colitis-linked microbial dysbiosis.
