Pascal Plaza

I studied engineering sciences at Ecole Centrale de Paris (ECP) and chemical physics at Universite Paris VI, in France. I got my PhD in 1985, applying Raman spectroscopy to remote chemical analysis through fiber optics, under the supervision of Prof. N.Q. Dao (ECP). After working for the Rhone-Poulenc Recherches as an engineer in the field of rare earth materials, I joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) as a ra researcher in 1991. My research activity was ever since centered about the application of ultrafast spectroscopy to the study of the primary photoinduced reactions of organic systems. I have now shifted my center of interest from chromophores in solution to photoactive proteins. I became senior CNRS researcher in 2004.
