Bio
Philip M. Ryan received the B.S.E.E. degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, in 1972, the M.S.E.E. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1973, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1986.
From 1997 to 2001, he managed the Plasma Chemistry Database and Modeling Research Program, SEMATECH, Austin, TX. Since 1974, he has been with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he is currently a Senior Research Staff Member with the Fusion Energy Division. His current fusion activities include the design, analysis, and application of high-power RF heating and current drive systems for tokamak experiments.
