I am an assistant professor in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Maryland Baltimore County(UMBC). I received my PhD degree in cheminformatics from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. I finished my postdoctoral training in cheminformatics and biomedical informatics at Indiana University and Mayo Clinic. Prior to my position at UMBC, I was an assistant professor in medical informatics in school of medicine at Mayo Clinic. My primary research interest is translational biomedical and health informatics. My main research focus is applying informatics approaches, emerging computational and web technologies to facilitate meaningful use of biomedical/health data, and ultimately better support healthcare and improve quality of life.
