个人简介
Jane is an applied geomorphologist by training, with over 28 years of experience in soil science research. She has specialised in the fields of land degradation processes (especially soil erosion) in all land based sectors (agriculture, civil engineering, natural landscapes, urban); soil conservation measures (agronomic, engineering and soil management practices); use of vegetation for erosion control and slope protection (soil bioengineering); soil erosion hazard and risk assessment; and experimentation in erosion research, especially the use of rainfall and runoff simulators. Field experience includes the monitoring of soil erosion, using experimental plots and rainfall simulation, and the environmental impacts of soil erosion.
She has over 20 years’ experience of research project management, specialising in multi-disciplinary approaches that seek to integrate fundamental and applied soil science at a range of spatial and temporal scales. Collaborating with many research organisations, her work is directed at various audiences including RCUK, industrial clients and policy makers at the national and international level.
