Richard Pötter is internationally renowned for his work in the treatment of gynaecological cancers, in particular for the new adaptive targeting concepts for cervical cancer and the ground-breaking EMBRACE studies. In these studies, the advantages of image-guided adaptive brachytherapy for cervical cancer have been and are being scientifically investigated.

His great commitment to the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) and his voluntary work in other organisations show how important cooperation with experts outside his own institution is. Richard Pötter is a member of a European and international network of gynaecological experts that has existed for 25 years and originally developed joint European, American and international guidelines for the treatment of cervical and vaginal cancer.
