Robert Pincus

Robert Pincus received the Ph.D. degree in atmospheric sciences from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1994. He came to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD, in 1994 as an NRC Resident Research Associate, where he worked until joining the University of Wisconsin, Madison, as a Visiting Professor in 1998. He is currently a Research Scientist with the Climate Diagnostics Center, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Studies, Boulder, CO. His research experience includes clouds as they relate to earth's radiation budget and climate, including descriptions and simple models of horizontal and vertical structure, methods of remote sensing, and the representation of clouds in climate models. He designed the fundamental architecture behind the MODIS Level-3 joint atmosphere tile and daily products.
