Raoul Rontsch

Raoul Röntsch is a theoretical physicist, originally from Cape Town, South Africa. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Cape Town (UCT), obtaining a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in 2005 and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Theoretical Physics in 2006. He then obtained his M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from UCT in 2008, under the supervision of Cesareo Dominguez. He was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship in 2008, and in 2012 completed his D.Phil. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Giulia Zanderighi. Raoul worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Fermilab in Batavia, USA, from September 2012-September 2015, and at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany from October 2015-September 2018. He was a Fellow in the CERN Department of Theoretical Physics from October 2018-September 2021. In October 2021, he took up an associate professorship at the University of Milan in Italy. His research interests are higher order calculations in perturbative quantum chromodynamics, and their application to particle collider phenomenology.
