Ralf Seip

Ralf Seip (S'88–M'90) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and the B.S. degree in computer engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, in 1990, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1992 and 1996, respectively. From 1996 to 1999, he was a Research Scientist with Robert Bosch Corporation. Until 2007, he was the Director of the R&D, Focus Surgery, Inc. He is currently the Director of Ventures, Philips Research North America, Briarcliff Manor, NY, where he is engaged in developing ultrasound-mediated delivery devices. His current research interests include noninvasive ultrasound therapy devices using thermal and pressure-mediated mechanisms, as well as the development of treatment monitoring and control strategies. Dr. Seip is a member of the IEEE Ultrasonics Technical Program Committee, and a Board member of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound.
