His professional affiliations include memberships of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and the Singapore Society of Oncology. He sits on various committees including National Healthcare Group Domain-Specific Ethics Review Board, Ministry of Health Drug Advisory Committee, Medical Oncology Specialist Training Committee, and Communications Committee, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.
His research interests are in lung cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, and gastrointestinal cancers and have received grants for research work in these areas. He has been invited to speak and present his research findings at many international meetings and has published more than 80 papers in journals including Cell, Nature Medicine, Science Translational Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Lancet Oncology, and Cancer Research.
