His research is focused on the design, realization and implementation of specialty fibres for mid-infrared nonlinear optics and high-power ultrafast lasers.

He holds 6 patents (licensed) and authored or co-authored 68 papers in peer-reviewed journals (H-index = 26; 2340 citations). Since his appointment as a Professor in 2003, 10 doctoral candidates completed their PhD under his supervision.

He was awarded the Jean Jerphagnon prize in 2016 from two French scientific societies, la Société Française d’Optique et la Société de l’Electricité, de l’Electronique et des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication.
