He has published over 120 peer-reviewed papers including articles in PLoS Pathogens, Nature Genetics, Gastroenterology and Gut. He has won a number of awards including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NFSC) Excellent Young Scientists Fund, Hong Kong College of Physicians (HKCP) Distinguished Research Paper Award, and the Croucher Foundation Clinical Academics Development Scheme. His research interests are to understand the host-microbe relationships in various diseases, and to explore novel biomarkers and therapeutics for clinical application.
