Sina Hasheminassab

The overarching objective of my research is to identify, characterize, and quantify sources of airborne particulate matter (PM) and to evaluate how population exposure to these pollutants and the toxicity of their sources vary with respect to location, season, and particle size. In collaboration with environmental epidemiologists, I seek to identify the major contributors to the adverse health effects linked to PM and to understand how toxic mechanisms vary with the source, chemical composition, and physical characteristics of PM.
