He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology, and has received several awards and honors for his clinical and research achievements, including the NCCN Young Investigator Award, the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Award in Cancer Research, and the Mayo Clinic Innovation Award.
He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters on topics such as CAR T cell therapy, hematological malignancies, and bone marrow transplantation. He leads a translational research program that focuses on T cell biology and engineering, and the development of novel cellular therapies for hematological and solid tumors.
