Vinicio Sanchez received the B.Sc. degree in geophysical engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico City, Mexico, in 1990, the M.Sc. degree in geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, in 2004, where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in geophysics in the Center for Gravity, Electrical, and Magnetic Studies. His experience is in hydrocarbon exploration seismology. Previously, he was with seismic acquisition and processing companies in Mexico, and with the Mexican Petroleum Institute, where he was in the potential fields department and in the seismic processing center. He is currently a Geoscientist with Chevron, Houston, TX. His research interests include UXO detection and discrimination using magnetic data, prestack depth seismic migration, azimuthal normal move-out (NMO) anisotropy, and statistics in geosciences. Mr. Sanchez is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the Denver Geophysical Society, and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
