Sean W. Bailey received the B.S. degree in marine science and biology from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, USA, in 1992, and the M.S. degree in biological oceanography from The University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, MS, USA, in 1997. He joined the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD, USA, in 1997, as a Contractor working for what is now the Ocean Biology Processing Group. In 2015, he became a Civil Servant with NASA and currently serves as the Manager of the Ocean Biology Distributed Active Archive Center. His research interests include bio-optical remote sensing of the oceans, specifically with the on-orbit calibration of satellite-based sensors and the validation of their data products.
