Silvia Crivelli

Silvia Crivelli received the PhD degree in computer science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1995. She was a postdoctoral fellow with the University of California, Berkeley and with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), where she worked in computational biology. She is a faculty scientist with LBNL and an associate researcher with the University of California, Davis. Her research interests include protein structure prediction, structural modeling, and machine learning. She has authored more than 30 papers in a broad range of STEM fields including parallel computing, molecular visualization, optimization methods applied to protein structure prediction, and mathematical models applied to bioimaging. She is a member of the Advanced Scientific Computing Advisory Committee (ASCAC) that provides independent advice to the Department of Energy on a variety of complex scientific and technical issues related to its Advanced Scientific Computing Research program.
