This research has included a variety of project management tasks. He has worked primarily with issues on diagnosis, control and epidemiology of paratuberculosis. He designed the Danish control programme on paratuberculosis, which was successfully implemented in 2006. He has also published > 170 peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals, along with more than 80 professional papers and numerous conference contributions. He currently serves as Chair of the Animal Health and Welfare Panel and as a member of the Scientific Committee in the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and the results of those efforts are published in 130+ international reports including guidance on methodology and development of legislation in the European Union.
