Stefan Jacob

The research profile of my group is about molecular mechanisms of cellular signaling associated with the plant pathogenic fungus Magnaporthe oryzae, which causes rice blast disease. In a multidisciplinary approach, we investigate how this fungus adapts to its environment and cause disease in plants. I have three main research areas: 1. Alternative splicing in fungal development and disease 2. Molecular programming of eukaryotic MAPK signaling 3. Rapid evolution of eukaryotic signaling networks
