I am a social scientist, senior advisor, research consultant and author with 22 years’ experience tackling global health and sustainable development challenges in international settings in South-East Asia, Africa, Western Pacific and Europe.

I work respectfully with not-for-profits, public institutions, grassroots organisations and businesses who are driving innovative, inclusive, people-centred approaches to solve the world’s most pressing health and sustainable development challenges and accelerate equity. I am available for short- or long-term consulting, advisory or research work, and would love to hear from organisations who think I could help!

With a focus on health inequity and social injustice, my work brings together lived experience with theory to understand what works (or not) and why in particular settings. I have published widely on HIV, sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, neglected tropical diseases, TB, COVID and other infectious diseases, the socio-structural determinants of health, gender and sexuality (>50 journal papers, 5 book chapters, >45 reports, >30 presentations). I’ve also published two books on interpretive and community-led approaches to research, design, monitoring and evaluation.
