Stephen Kirk Combs

Stephen Kirk Combs received the B.S. degree in chemical engineering and the M.S. degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1974 and 1977, respectively. He has been with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, since 1974, where he is currently a Senior Development Staff Member with the Fusion Energy Division. Since 1982, he has been working on the development of plasma fueling systems and related technology for fusion research applications, including hydrogen pellet injectors, and providing reliable systems to many experimental fusion devices in the U.S. and around the world. He is the author or co-author of more than 60 refereed journal articles and more than 70 contributed papers and laboratory reports. Mr. Combs is a Registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee since 1979.
