The Strom laboratory has been active in the isolation, culture and transplantation of human hepatocytes for over 30 years, and the transplantation of hepatocytes to treat patients with liver disease for over 20 years. We also conduct basic research with isolated human hepatocytes and stem cells from different sources. We are investigating stem cell-derived hepatocytes, particularly those generated from iPS and human amnion epithelial cells. We recently moved from the US (Pittsburgh) to Sweden to continue this work.
