Swastik Kar

Swastik Kar was born in India in 1973. He received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree from the Presidency College, Kolkata, India, in 1995, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangaluru, India, in 1998 and 2004, respectively, all in physics. From 2003 to 2004, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Physikalisches Institut, Universität Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany. in 2004, he joined Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where he was engaged in the field of carbon nanoelectronics at the Interconnect Focus Center, and has been a Lead Research Specialist since 2007. He has authored or coauthored several papers on condensed matter and nanomaterials physics and their applications, published in high-impact journals. Dr. Kar is a member of the American Physical Society and the Materials Research Society.
