J. Ted Mackereth

Postgraduate research student at the Astrophysics Research Institute, LJMU. My current research interests lie in the understanding of the formation and evolution of the Milky Way in a cosmological context. I work mainly using observational data from the SDSS APOGEE survey, alongside state of the art theoretical data from the EAGLE suite of cosmological, hydrodynamical simulations. Specifically, I am working to understand how the disks of galaxies like the Milky Way have formed and survived through cosmic time, and what their characteristics can tell us about the history of the universe.
