Bio
Tamas Nagy received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the
University of Szeged, Szeged, Hungary, in 1994 and 2000, respectively. Subsequently, he spent four years with Lambda
Physik AG, Göttingen, Germany, a leading laser manufacturer, as an R&D scientist. In 2004, he moved to
Laser-Laboratorium Göttingen e.V., Germany, as a Postdoctoral Researcher where he coinvented the stretched
flexible hollow fiber technology for pulse compression. In 2011, he was with the Prof. U. Morgner's group,
Leibniz University Hannover while maintaining a part-time position, Laser-Laboratorium Göttingen e.V. Since 2016
he is a Staff Scientist and holds a department head position with the Max Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and
Short Pulse Spectroscopy, Berlin, Germany. His research interests include generation and characterization of
ultrashort light pulses, pulse compression, parametric processes, and strong-field phenomena.
Dr. Nagy is a member of the German Physical Society and Senior Member of the Optical Society of America.
