Tina T Chowdhury

Tina T. Chowdhury received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees. She was appointed as an Academic Fellow in 2005, a Lecturer in 2008, and a Senior Lecturer in 2012 with the School of Engineering and Materials Science. She joined the Queen Mary University of London, U.K., as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2002. She was awarded a Draper’s Fellowship, from 2014 to 2017, the Queen Mary University Senior Fellowship, in 2018, and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, in 2018. Her work in entrepreneurship has been recognized by the 2014 Times Higher Education, 2016 Reimagine Education Gold Award, and the 2018 Ingenious Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering. She is developing technologies in medical diagnostics and regenerative medicine and has identified therapeutics to prevent inflammatory disease. She works with a global multidisciplinary team, has published more than 50 articles and presented world-wide. Her research regularly features on the radio, news, and social media. She is the Biomedical Engineering Admissions, Outreach and Public Engagement Director, and promotes subjects in the STEAMM disciplines to young people in U.K.
