Terry V. Callaghan CMG is Professor of Arctic Ecology, University of Sheffield, and Tomsk State University, Russia (currently on hold), and is Honorary Doctor of Oulu University, Finland, Lund University, Sweden, Tomsk State University, Russia and Khovd State University, Mongolia.

He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Over 56 years, he has done research in every Arctic country. With over 460 scientific publications, he is a “Most Cited and Influential Researcher” and “World-leading Researcher” (according to Web of Science and Research.com).

He was Lead Author to IPCC assessments, the United Nations Environment Panel on Stratospheric Ozone Depletion Effects, the Arctic Climate Impacts Assessment and others. He played important roles in establishing the UK research station on Svalbard and 3 research stations in Siberia. He directed the Abisko Research Station in Sweden for 14 years and developed the Climate Impacts Research Centre. He works with Indigenous People and founded INTERACT and co-founded the Siberian Environmental Change Network.
