Bio
I work on water quality, physico-chemical variables including algal nutrients, phyto-zooplankton species compositions, biomasses and interactions to understand the underlying factors and their significance in the food web. I am also working on modeling aquatic ecosystem using Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE) software model to understand food web structure, linkages and functioning. I am also using a a relatively new technique Stable Isotopes Analysis in particular δ13C, δ34S and δ15N to identify sources of carbon along the food webs as well as trophic position of the organisms. Presently, I am focusing on eutrophication and water pollution as it is an emerging and pressing water quality problem. The ultimate goal of my research is to contribute for sustainable aquatic resource utilization.
