Taimin Yang

After completing a Bachelor and Master degree in Material Science and Engineering at Central South University, China, Taimin went on to pursue a PhD degree in Inorganic Chemistry at Stockholm University in Prof. Xiaodong Zou's research group. During his PhD study, he specialized in structure determination of beam-sensitive materials (zeolite, MOF) using electron microscopy and method development. He obtained his PhD degree at Stockholm University in June 2019 and he was awarded the Chinese government award for outstanding self finance students abroad in 2019. Then he went to Nordea Bank, the largest bank in North Europe, as a data scientist. After one year, he moved back to Stockholm University as a postdoc in Zou's research group. He initiated the development of energy-filtered MicroED/3DED using Gatan Image Filter at Zou's group and proved the energy filtration will improve the data quality. He is also working on Instamatic, a data acqusition and processing platform of electron microscopy, for achieving automatic structure analysis using modern TEMs.
