Thomas Strach

Thomas Strach IBM Systems, Boeblingen 71032, Germany (strach@de.ibm.com). Dr. Strach received an M.S. degree from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, in 1992, and a Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany, in 1997. He joined IBM in 1997 and started working for the IBM Systems and Technology Group in 2004. His main responsibility is the alternating current power integrity design of IBM high-end servers. His research interests include the simulation and experimental verification of on-chip power noise propagation, and the design of guidelines for the effective placement of on-chip decoupling cells, as well as the characterization of on-chip power noise throttling circuitry.
