For more than 34 years I have been working in the field of dementia. As a clinical neuropsychologist, trained at UCSD, I have been primarily interested to understand, improve, and advance early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. As the head of the Memory Clinic in Basel (Switzerland), I have the honor to work with a team of 20+ employees with a very interdisciplinary (i.e., geriatrics, neuroimaging, neurology, neuropathology, neuropsychology, psychiatry) approach. At the University of Basel I give courses for master students of psychology and medicine. My research focuses on delineating the earliest possible signs of Alzheimer's disease. Since 1994 I have been greatly involved in more than 30 drug trials.
