His research interests include exotic electromagnetic properties of metamaterials, optical manifestation of fundamental symmetry breaking (3D- and 2D-chirality), nanoscale light localization and plasmons, light-matter interaction at nanoscale, and toroidal electrodynamics. Dr. Fedotov sits on the steering committee of the annual Metamaterials Congress; he is a member of the European Physical Society, European Virtual Institute of Metamaterial Research and Nanophotonics Europe Association.
