Vratislav Michal

Vratislav Michal was born in Olomouc, Czech Republic, in 1980. He received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and control from the Brno University of Technology, Brno, Czech Republic, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in microelectronics from Supélec, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France, in 2009. He joined ST-Ericsson (now STMicroelectronics) in Grenoble, France, in 2008 as a Postdoctoral Researcher and after as full-time Research and IC Design Engineer. He is involved in the R&D of the integrated switched-mode power converters for mobile phones and tablet platforms. He is also the author of several patents in this domain. Past and present research activities concern mainly the circuit theory, analog signal processing with a focus on the frequency filters, IC design, and activity on cryogenic electronic as the low temperature amplifiers or superconducting RSFQ logic. Dr. Michal received several awards as an early-stage Researcher from the Czech government, Brno University of Technology, and Czech Radio Club.
