His main research interests are in the fields of turbulence, aeroacoustics, vortex dynamics, drag reduction, biological and medical flows, and particleladen flows. He generally emphasizes a coupled numerical and experimental approach, i.e., simulations and measurements are used to doublecheck the findings and to develop innovative theoretical models. He has published more than 250 journal papers. He has been Treasurer of EUROMECH from 2004 through 2015. Wolfgang Schröder is a Member of the Academy of Sciences North-Rhine Westphalia, a Membre Titulaire de l´ Académie de l’ Air et de l’ Espace, Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Mechanics B/Fluids, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
